Project Templates

Writing can be difficult sometimes, but getting started is the hardest part. Luckily, Dabble has built-in templates to help you get started. From your home screen, choose the “Show Templates” option and choose from a preset that suits your fancy.

Writing in the same genre you’ve previously done a project in? You can also make templates from your own projects. To do that, just click the three dots on the right hand side of the project you want to copy and click “Make a Template”- If you need a visual on how to do this, here is a nifty step-by-step tutorial: https://app.arcade.software/share/Q56cXrvBVPdLJA7vnGqX

Scene Templates

Scene templates are quite useful when writing in any genre. To do it, click the Left-Hand Nav Menu and click the three dots beside “Template.” Next, you want to add a new scene and name it.

Next, add some text for a reminder.

Once you’ve put text there, you should see the scene notes on the right-hand side.

Add what you want on the notes template. Example: Who is there and what is happening?

Now that you have your ideal template, go to the chapter of your choice and click the three dots. Next, choose the option “Add From Template.”

In the drop down menu, click the story notes template that you want. It immediately adds it to your chapter in the same format as your first note!

Character Templates

Let’s make a character template! On the Left-Hand Nav Menu, click the three dots next to “Templates.”

Click “Add New Character.” Give the template a name. Then, add a new line and click the plus sign. Choose the header you prefer and add what you want to list about.

To use this template for other characters, just go to your Left-Hand Nav Menu and down to “Characters”.

Next select “Add From Template” and your character note will match the format of the one you started with! You can make more than one template to choose from depending on your character needs and apply them as needed!
